Comparison

"We already have Hudl,
every program uses it."

Good. Keep it. Hudl is the film: the cameras, the stream, the sideline replay, the highlight reels, the recruiting profile, and now GPS laid over the video. Strata is the athlete's record: the injury, the clearance, the training week, the fuel plan, the heat reading, and the live game stats sitting on the same page as all of it. A school is not choosing between them. It is choosing whether the stuff that is not on film lives anywhere at all.

Where Hudl is genuinely good

Game film and the tools around it: Focus cameras, streaming, exchange with opponents, automatic highlights, recruiting profiles, sideline replay with AI-tagged offense, defense and special teams clips, and Titan GPS inside the video timeline. For film, there is nothing better at the high school level, and we do not try.

Where the line falls

Hudl shows you the play. Strata knows the player. Whether he is cleared for contact today, what his training load was the two weeks before his hamstring went, whether he ate before the game, what the WBGT was at kickoff, and what he did in the game as it happened. None of that is on film, so none of it is in Hudl.

What each one costs

Hudl publishes high school pricing per program per year: $1,500, $2,500 or $4,000 depending on the tier, with department packages by quote. Strata is $5,000 a year for the whole school, every sport, every athlete, every role. Ten programs on Hudl's lowest tier is three times that.

Row by row.

Two columns, two different jobs. The rows where Hudl wins are rows Strata does not compete in, on purpose.

When the Athletic Director says it

"Keep Hudl. It is the film, and nobody does film better. Hudl shows you the play. Strata knows the player. Whether he is cleared today, what his training week looked like, what he ate, what the heat was, and what he did in the game as it happened, all on one record. We read Hudl's stat sheets, so nothing gets typed twice."

Day one, with Hudl in the building.

1. Keep filming

Nothing about the cameras, the exchange or the highlight reels changes. Coaches keep their Hudl logins.

2. Score the game in Strata, or import it

A student scorer taps the game live from the bench, with the roster's injury status on the same screen. For games nobody scored live, drop the Hudl stats spreadsheet in and the box score lands on every player's card.

3. Let the record do the rest

Those stats sit next to the athlete's readiness, training load and clearance. Nobody has to open four tabs to answer "should he play Friday."

The practical test.

Open Hudl and ask it whether your left tackle is cleared for contact today. Ask what his training load was the two weeks before his hamstring went. Ask what the WBGT was at kickoff and which coaches were told. Those are not features Hudl is missing. They are data it does not have, because it was never asked to.
